Sage Launches Subscription Invoicing Aimed toward Small Business Customers

One of the most important challenges and frustrations of running a small business is getting paid. Now Sage has announced a brand new monthly subscription-based invoicing service. Called Sage One Invoicing and costing $9 a month, it can be targeting small businesses as its core customers.

The reasons for this appear to be pretty clear. Based on the corporate, 57% of small businesses struggle to receives a commission quickly. About 71% of those businesses use Word or Excel to generate invoices. And 47% send their invoices inside the mail.

So a more organized, more productive system is needed. The hot invoicing service is being promoted as an effortless alternative to other billing methods.

Well, consider this scenario that’s probably quite common to many small business owners. You are making your personal invoices in Word or Excel. Then, you either email them or mail them.

Afterwards it becomes extremely difficult to trace the status of these invoices. Which of them has been paid? Which of them are still unpaid? Which of them are partially paid? Keeping on top of all of it is a big challenge. How do you make sure to re-invoice late payers?

With Sage, those challenges are eased considerably, the corporate says. When you send out your invoices from Sage, the buyer will pay directly from the invoice into Sage’s bank card service or Paypal. If the payment is late, Sage One will let you know so that you can send the invoice out again. Partial payments also are tracked, the corporate says.

Another plus is that, being online, Sage could be accessed from any computer with an internet connection. Out of the office? No problem. Just sign into your account from another computer to determine all your invoices.

An official announcement from the corporate has more .  Sage One Product Manager Mike Savory said:

“There are many selections available in the market today for online invoicing solutions, but some are too complicated for a small business’ needs and others don’t offer enough functionality.
