HAMDEN — Eli’s on Whitney is closing for five days after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19, the restaurant announced Friday.
The management of the restaurant at 2392 Whitney Ave. posted the closing announcement on its Facebook page.
“Due to a positive COVID test from an employee, we will be temporarily closing this location for the next 5 days out of an abundance of caution for our team as well, of course for you, our guests,” the announcement said.
“During this time we will be sanitizing contact surfaces as well as working with our team on contact tracing, testing and isolation protocols to ensure we are doing our part to prevent further spread of the virus.
“As we have throughout for the past seven months, we will remain vigilant in our sanitation procedures and use of personal protective equipment.”
The management said its Brick Oven Pizza location across the street, as well as Eli’s in Branford, Orange and Manchester and Tavern in Milford remain open.
“We look forward to see you on Wednesday 10/20 and beyond,” the announcement said
